As I have been involved with judo for the last 45 years, I got to thinking I might have something to say that could be of interest and benefit to other Judo Coaches or players and what better medium than a web site to say my piece.  

It’s also a way of introducing the book I have written on Coaching Judo which incorporates all those years of teaching and my great love for the sport of judo. Basically the book is about how to become a great Coach of a thriving Judo Club. 

The information that appears throughout this website is based on my own opinions and experience, including how I see Australian judo developing in the future.  With tongue in cheek I say, that it’s not my intent to offend anyone with the opinions and information on these pages, however you can be sure some may feel that way.  In saying that, let’s hope the majority of readers will enjoy the overall content and take things on board as being constructive - as I surely intend them to be.

Having just moved into my 72nd year, I still gain a great amount of enjoyment and satisfaction from my involvement in this wonderful sport.  If you as a Judoka, are thinking about progressing to the next level of becoming a Judo Coach, then I whole heartedly say – do it!  If you are already a Judo Coach and are looking at ways to improve or revamp your existing programme then I hope by implementing some of my ideas, you will achieve your goal.  However, whatever your reason is for becoming a Judo Coach, you can be assured that along with your efforts being rewarded with a great deal of pride and satisfaction, you’ll get a whole lot of laughs along the way.
